This year's run was all about teams. The difference was that you did not
know who was in your team until the draw at the end. All along, Chopper
kept saying that it was possible to come last in the race and still be
part of the winning team. And so it was. David Heffer was the last
finisher in the long course (by courteously allowing Leanne to cross the
line before him) and drew a Tiger to make the fifth member of that team. Well done to all. Long Course:- the Tigers Gary Signor Keith McDonald Louise Hancock Darren Roberts David Heffer
Short Course:- the Snakes Robert Guadagnini Ben Lyons Samantha Graham Nick Altin Teddy Mazzarolo The Snakes and the Tigers have wrapped up the Kanwhen Cup With fresh weather, 105 entrants and a track and competition that was still to be revealed this weeks “hill run” was sure to arouse some curiosity. The race was simple…….the same track as last week, however…..this time all runners where off scratch. The handicap was applied at the finish line with each entrant to receive a piece of an animal jigsaw puzzle when they crossed the line. The winners were to be the team with the first fully completed puzzle. Therefore all entrants that finished the course had an equal chance of winning. In the short course the snakes came home as the winners. The team comprising of Ben Lyons, Robert Guadagnini (on his first ever hill run), Nick Altin, Teddy Mazzarolo and Samantha Graham where the first team to complete their puzzle and therefore win. In the long course the tigers took the glory with the very last person home for the day completing the tiger’s tail. Darren Roberts, Louise Hancock, Keith McDonald, Gary Signor (who handicapped himself by arriving late) and David Heffer added the final piece to the puzzle. Don’t forget the handicapper is back next week, with the new course to commence at 4.30. So see you at the water tower.
